The preferred maximum number of Ambassadors our Club can host is 25.
Arrivals:
By Air: Blenheim Airport, 7km from the town. There are frequent direct flights to and from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. All Ambassadors are met there by Friendship Force members.
By Sea: Inter-islander ferries arrive regularly at Picton, (27km from Blenheim) from Wellington. Ambassadors are usually met there at the Ferry Terminal.
Departures: By air, and sometimes by sea, as above By Coach: Often groups travel further afield on private tours.
By Train: Occasionally exchanges travel on the scenic Coastal Pacific once-daily service to Christchurch.About the Club:
The Marlborough Club was chartered in April 1987 and currently has 90 members, the majority of whom live in Blenheim.

About the Region
The Province of Marlborough occupies the northeastern section of the South Island, with the principal town being Blenheim, population about 27,000. Marlborough is a major grape-growing region in New Zealand, with many wineries. The locally produced Sauvignon Blanc white wines are in demand worldwide. There is also a great variety of other land use - many types of farming, nut growing, garlic, fruit etc. and of course, marine farming. The small town of Havelock boasts it is "The Green-lipped Mussel Capital of the World", Kaikoura is known for crayfish (rock lobster) and Whale Watching. We offer Ambassadors scenery from native forest to the extensive water playgrounds of the Marlborough Sounds. (fjords). Marlborough's is a dry climate with approximately 26 inches (630 mils) of rainfall a year falling mainly in the spring. Blenheim often tops the country in sunshine hours for the year. Temperatures range from moderate frosts in the winter to high twenties centigrade in summer.
